Where to go and how to get there

Within the Alpes Maritimes "département" the bus costs just 1,50€ in the whode department.. There is a stop a few moments from the hotel, providing easy access to Monaco, Menton, Nice, Cannes and further afield. Alternatively, there is an excellent train service, which for a few euros more takes you to destination along the length of the Côte d'Azur.

There is much to discover. Nestling beneath the dramatic foothills of the Alps, Villefranche dominates the sweeping, sheltered "rade" or bay. The adjoining villages dotted along the jagged coastline are interspersed with secluded coves, pretty beaches end rocky points, some accessible by car and some by cycle or on foot. All these contribute to the magic of this area of outstanding beauty waiting to enchant you.

The coastal path around Cap Ferrat (two hours'walk) will take you to just such idyllic spots where you can swim or saunter along the water's edge, far from the frenzy of everyday life.

Neither will those in search of culture be disappointed. Entry to the museums at "la Citadelle de Villefranche" is free ; la Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild and la Villa Kerylos are well worth visiting. In the summer, there are concerts in the gardens at la Citadelle, and an open-air cinema. All are within walking distance of the hôtel.
